🥣 Step by Step Instructions
Below is a brief step-by-step process with photos of how to make Easter Rice Krispie Treats. See the recipe card below for more detailed recipe instructions.
Step 1: Over medium heat, gradually melt the butter and marshmallows in a non-stick pan. Stir constantly to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
Step 2: Once the marshmallows have fully melted add in the vanilla extract.
Step 3: Pour the melted marshmallow mixture into the Rice Krispies in a large bowl, being careful not to spill. Gently mix the Rice Krispies together with the melted marshmallows until the cereal is fully coated.
Step 4: Transfer the Rice Krispie mixture to the prepared baking sheet and press down until it's compact, approximately 2 cm thick. Allow it to set.
Tip: I find it easiest to press down gently with a piece of parchment paper as the Rice Krispy easter treats can be very sticky when being transferred into the tin.
Step 5: Melt the white chocolate in the microwave in short bursts. Once melted use a couple of drops of food coloring if desired. Then drizzle over the Easter rice Krispie treats. Top with your preferred decorations when the chocolate is still melted. Leave to set.
Step 6: Once fully set. Slice into your desired-sized Rice Krispie easter treats and enjoy!
