    If you are new to a gluten free diet and looking for what breakfast cereals are gluten free then you have come to the right place. We have explored some of the most popular cereals including gluten free cereals for kids. Then arranged them in a gluten free cereal list for each.

    DISCLAIMER - All gluten-free Cereal guides below are for informational purposes and were correct at the time of publishing. As I am based in the UK I have included gluten free cereal UK but have researched what is also available elsewhere in the world.

    Always check the ingredients label before consuming any cereal as some manufacturers may alter ingredients. Allergens should always be included and stated on the ingredients label.

    Is Kellogg's cereal Gluten free

    Kellogg's cereals usually contain barley malt extract which is made from barley and not gluten free. If the product contains less than 20 ppm (Parts per million) then it is labeled gluten free and safe to eat if following a gluten free diet.

    Kellogg's has started producing Gluten free cereal in some countries such as Australia and should clearly state Gluten-free on the packaging. Always be sure that any cereal you purchase is labeled gluten-free.

    Are Rice Krispies gluten free

    Kellogg's Rice Krispies are a toasted rice cereal and can be found in most stores. Kellogg's produces Rice Krispy cereal, Rice Krispy snack bars, and cereal bars.

    Kelloggs Rice Krispies cereal ingredients are Rice, sugar, salt, and barley malt extract. As Kellogg's rice Krispies cereal contains Barley it is not gluten free.

    Kellogg's Coco Pops is a chocolate-flavored toasted rice cereal and can be found in most stores. Kellogg's produces Coco pops cereal, Coco pops rocks, Coco pops snack bars, and cereal bars.

    Kelloggs Coco pops cereal ingredients are Rice, sugar, glucose syrup, fat-reduced cocoa powder, salt, cocoa mass, barley malt extract, and flavorings. As Kellogg's Coco pops cereal contains Barley it is not gluten free.

    If you are wondering are Kellogg's corn flakes gluten free then let's have look. Kellogg's Corn Flakes cereal ingredients are Maize, barley malt extract, sugar, and salt. As Kellogg's Corn flakes cereal contains Barley it is not gluten free.

    Let's have look at Kellogg's Frosted flakes also known as Frosties to check if they are gluten free. Kellogg's Frosted Flakes cereal ingredients are Maize, sugar, barley malt extract, and salt. As Kellogg's Frosted flakes cereal contains Barley it is not gluten free.

    Kellogg's Froot Loops is a mixed fruit-flavored cereal and can be found in most stores. It's a popular choice for kid's cereal. Kellogg's produces Froot loops cereal, Froot Loops Snax, and cereal bars.

    Kelloggs Froot Loops cereal ingredients are Cereal flours Including wheat, oat, and maize, sugar, glucose syrup, salt, fruit, and vegetable concentrates, and natural citrus flavoring, and color. As Kellogg's Froot Loops cereal contains Wheat it is not gluten free.

    Are Cheerios gluten free

    Cheerios is a whole grain cereal and can be found in most stores. It has long been a popular cereal choice but often causes confusion within the gluten-free community as to if it is gluten free. So I looked a little deeper to find out if cheerios are gluten free.

    In the US and Canada- Cherrios Original is produced by General Mills in the United States and Canada and is labeled Gluten free as it has no gluten-containing ingredients. General Mills produces various varieties of Cheerios and some may contain gluten. Always check the box is clearly labeled gluten free.

    In the UK - Cheerios are produced by Nestle in the United Kingdom and are made with whole grains which include Wheat and Barley. This means that Cheerios in the UK are not Gluten free.

    In Australia and New Zealand - Cheerios are produced by Uncle Tobys in Australia and New Zealand. They are made with whole grains which include Wheat. This means that Cheerios in Australia and New Zealand are not Gluten free.

    For those of you that do not have gluten free Cheerios available in your country. Below is a list of gluten free cheerios style cereal

    • Doves Farm Freee Foods Gluten Free Organic Supergrain Hoops - In UK
    • Freedom Classic Honey-O Crunch - In Australia
    • Store Free From Range- Many stores such as Aldi, Morrisons, and Tesco's have a Free from range that includes gluten free multigrain hoops Breakfast Cereals.

    Always check that any cereal is labeled gluten free. If in Austrialia look out for the Coeliac Australia Endorsment label. If in the UK look out for the Coeliac UK cross grain symbol.

    Are Trix gluten free

    Trix made by General Mill is a fruity shaped and flavored cereal usually popular with kids. General Mills Trix Cereal ingredients are Whole grain corn, Sugar, Rice flour, Corn syrup, Canola oil, Salt, Trisodium phosphate, Natural and artificial colorings.

    Trix does not have any gluten-containing ingredients but is not labeled gluten free on the packaging. So it is unclear if they are monitoring for cross-contamination during the manufacturing process.

    Are Lucky Charms gluten free

    General Mills Lucky Charms Cereal with Marshmallows is a toasted oat cereal with mini marshmallow treats. They have long been a favorite among children for many years.

    Lucky Charms ingredients include Whole Grain Oats, Sugar, Oat Flour, Corn Syrup, Modified Corn Starch, Corn Starch, Dextrose, Salt, Gelatin, Acidity Regulator: Trisodium Phosphate ,Canola Oil, Colour, Flavouring, and Tocopherols. I'm happy to say that Lucky Charms do not have any gluten-containing ingredients and are labeled gluten free.

    General Mills state that in the process of making Lucky charms they check the oats after sifting to be sure that it is below the 20 parts per million of gluten.

    Is Weetabix gluten free

    Weetabix is a popular breakfast cereal in the UK and you can find them in most supermarkets. Although it can now be found in various countries around the world.

    Weetabix ingredients include Wholegrain Wheat, Malted Barley Extract, Sugar, Salt, Niacin, Iron, Riboflavin, Thiamin, and Folic Acid. As Weetabix cereal contains Wheat and Barley it is not gluten free.

    Below is a list of alternative Weetabix gluten free cereal

    • Nutri-Brex guten free cereal
    • Weet-Bix Gluten Free - In Australia

    I have only found these two options but I will add any that I come across in the future. As always be sure to check any cereal is labeled gluten free.
