My Gluten free Journey
I'm Amanda the recipe developer, Food blogger, and photographer here at gluten free tranquility.
My gluten free journey started when I had been unwell for quite some time. After many trips to the doctor, I was then told gluten was now off the menu!
I thought my relationship with delicious food and yummy treats was over. For a period of time it was (It seemed like it was everywhere). As I had always enjoyed baking. I decided to experiment at home in my own kitchen and try to recreate all the yummy food that I loved.
Falling back in love with food
Along the way, there have been many failures but I always learn from them every time. I'm so lucky to have my family that has always been supportive and volunteered to taste-test every recipe. Then slowly everything just seemed to click into place. When I started getting reviews that no one could tell my bakes were gluten free my love for food was rekindled!
How it all started
As my recipe book at home started to fill up with my gluten free bakes and treats like my gluten free shortcrust pastry and my gluten free old school cake. I thought there must be others out there that are also on their gluten-free journey that might be finding it stressful just like I once did.
So initially in 2020, I started a foodie Instagram page with the encouragement of my kids and started getting private messages from others requesting some of the recipes. To make it easier to share my recipes at the beginning of 2021 I got to work building a space online where I could easily share my gluten free recipes, tips, and guides.
Then Gluten Free Tranquility was born as I want to help others fall in love with food again. To build a gluten free community and to help your journey to gluten free life stress-free and tasty.

More about Amanda & the blog
When coming up with the name for the blog we brainstormed so many different options but I knew I wanted to have gluten free in the name so it would be obvious that it's all about gluten free living and recipes.
Tranquility came about when I reminisced about my personal journey toward a gluten-free lifestyle. Baking has always been my go-to activity for relaxation as I find it therapeutic. However, the experience of starting a gluten-free diet was initially overwhelming and filled with stress. Fast forward to today, Baking in the kitchen for my family is once again my happy place.
There are lots of easy recipes on the blog but you could start with the gluten free s'mores cookies, Gluten free Victoria sponge cake, or gluten free American pancakes. I also have lots of easy no-bake recipes like my Oreo Tart or gluten free Banoffee pie.
It's so difficult to choose a favorite as for me it changes with the seasons. I would say my most baked recipe is my gluten free chocolate cupcakes or gluten free old school cake as they are both great for taking along to parties and easy to change the decoration to suit the holiday theme.
You might find gluten free guides such as what chocolate is gluten free, gluten free breakfast cereal list or gluten free candy and sweets helpful.
