⭐ Why we love these recipes
- Gluten Free - All recipes are made using gluten free ingredients that are easy to find.
- Full of Fall Flavors - Every recipe is packed full of seasonal flavors.
- Variety - From creamy cheesecakes, soft and fluffy cakes, and no bake recipes there is something for everyone.
- Dietary options - Some recipes are easily adaptable to suit other dietary needs such as dairy free, and vegan.
Canned Pumpkin Puree V Fresh Pumpkin Puree
When making gluten free desserts with pumpkin there are the choices for using canned pumpkin puree or making fresh pumpkin puree, There are pros and cons to both so I have included a quick guide below
Fresh Pumpkin Puree Pros
- Fresh pumpkin flavor.
- Variety of pumpkins to choose from.
- Easily adaptable for the recipe - Strain as much water as needed to suit the recipe.
- 100% Gluten Free - Pumpkin puree is naturally gluten free but by making homemade pumpkin puree you can be sure that it is prepared and made without any cross contamination
Fresh Pumpkin Puree Cons
- Requires additional time to make the pumpkin puree.
- Can require additional preparation before use - Depending on the recipe may require additional straining depending on the water content.
- Seasonal and not readily available all year round.
Homemade pumpkin puree is my favorite way to bake with pumpkin.
Canned Pumpkin Puree Pros
- Consistent flavor and texture profile.
- Available year-round with a long shelf life.
- Convenience and requires less preparation.
Canned Pumpkin Puree Cons
- Not as fresh and flavorful as fresh pumpkin.
- Additional label checking to ensure 100% certified gluten free (Be careful of pumpkin pie mix as this may have additional ingredients that contain gluten).
