This creamy mango milkshake is such a refreshing treat. Full of fresh mango flavor. It's the perfect way to cool down on a warm day and takes a few minutes to make and only 4 ingredients!

Two tall glasses filled with mango milkshake and topped with whipped cream and a tiny umbrella.

Making homemade milkshakes is such a fun way to cool down on a hot day, and in my house. We are always trying different flavors based on what we have in the food cupboard or refrigerator at the time. Such as our cookies n cream milkshake, thick banana shake, and Nutella milkshake, just to name a few.

Once you start making milkshakes at home and realise how quick and easy they are, I am sure it will also become your go-to treat.

Mangos are something we always have in, Fresh mangos in the summer and frozen mangos during the winter months. I also have a mango and peach pie that we often make in the summer months.

    🥤 Quick Recipe Snapshot

⏱ Prep Time: Only takes a few minutes to make.

👩‍🍳 Skill Level: beginner-friendly, no skills needed the nost difficult part is peeling and chopping the mangos.

    🥄 Servings: 2 large milkshakes.

    🥭 Flavor & Texture: Fresh & creamy

📖 Dietary Notes: Gluten free and easily made dairy-free or vegan by a quick swap to dairy-free/vegan milk and ice cream.

🍽️ Serving Suggestion: Top with whipped cream and chopped dried mango.

    📋 Ingredients Notes

Overhead image of ingredients for a mango milkshake recipe.
    • Mango - I used fresh mango, but if you only have access to frozen mango, this will also work. You will need to add more milk as the frozen mango will make the milkshake thicker.
    • Vanilla ice cream - Be sure to check that the ice cream is gluten-free. Use dairy free ice cream if requiring a dairy free option. The ice cream will add sweetness and make a lush creamy thick texture. Making it a cold delicious treat.
    • Milk - I used whole milk, as using milk with a higher fat content will result in a creamier mango shake, however, you can use your preferred milk or dairy-free option.
    • Vanilla extract - I use good-quality vanilla extract to add additional flavor that complements the mangos and ice cream perfectly.

Step 1: Peel and cube the mangos.

Step 3: Check the consistency of the mango milkshake. Add an extra scoop of ice cream if you want a thicker shake or more milk if you prefer a thinner shake.

Step 4:  Pour the mango milkshake mixture evenly between two tall glasses. Top with chantilly cream and chopped mango pieces (Optional). Serve immediately.

    💡 Pro Recipe Tips

    • Tip #1: Use fresh ripe mangos, as this will result in the best overall flavor for the mango milkshake. This recipe is also perfect for using frozen mangos if preferred, which is perfect when mangos are not in season.
    • Tip #2: For a thicker shake, add an additional scoop of ice cream or for a thinner mango shake, add a little extra milk.
    • Tip #3: For best results serve immediately topped with whipped cream and small chopped mango pieces or your preferred topping.

If you love ice cream treats, you will also love this Billy Miner pie, which is made with coffee-flavored ice cream, or what about trying a no churn strawberry ice cream.
